Good price on coil packs
Discussion
Hello everyone
I have been trying to trace a misfire on my 4.2 and obviously thought of the coil packs.
Looking on the equivalent parts list I saw thay are from a Citroen ZX. I looked the part up on the Eurocarparts website.
www.eurocarparts.co.uk
The model is a 1996 1.6i Citroen ZX. The eurocarparts part number is 413545061. The price is £21.81!
A certain dealer quoted me around £68.
"Is it the right part though?"
I hear you ask.
I went down to my local branch to have a look today and it is exactly the same as is fitted to my 1996 4.2. The wiring connector is the same as are the plug lead terminals.
Just thought I'd share this with everyone in case anyone is in the market for a coil pack.
Cheers
Ed
PS I haven't actually tried it on the car so I can't guarantee it works....

Does anyone know the specs of the coil packs? I'd like to replace them with something a bit less french like www.aldonauto.co.uk/aprods.htm#three

I've been looking at this thread with some confusion .. are they really doing the proper cerbie coil for that money? I've never seen it referred to as a citroen zx coil .. it shares a part number with a peugeot but not a citroen zx .. can only assume it's actually a slightly different coil? My prices are a straight low % on top of what i pay trade for them .. maybe not everyone even in TVR circles is using the same coil? In fact it reminds me of the days when one dealer I knew of used to wipe part numbers off mail order parts with thinners so customers didn't know where parts originally came from

They still do it at my local dealers, no stickers, no numbers and no packaging
Great, but thats business i suppose

I have tried one, got it from the Citroen dealer. Exactly the same as the TVR one. Works perfectly.
I paid a lot more than £21 for it though!

Like I said,
I haven't actually tried one on the car so it could be the wrong part. It looks exactly the same and it fits the car mentioned in the equivalent parts list.
