Any recomendations?

Will be travelling in the Griff around Spain in April and wondered where to get the best cover...

Cheers

Hi Neil I have used RAC Full European Cover several times - though fortunately not had to use it yet. Costs around £76.00 for (I think) 30 days but may be longer?

"More Than" are bundling in Euro cover with their normal Breakdown insurance for <£100 for the year. The RAC's "offer you a good deal to stop you quitting" man wouldn't even make an offer to get near that price. Seeing as the RAC only summon a local tow truck then I can't see how More Than can offer any worse service.

I got very cheap cover through Brittania for Le mans last year.
Way less than AA for the same level of service.

I had to use the AA some years back when the ignition system failed on my Harley. The difference between them and the RAC when I finally got back to blighty convinced me to up my coverage with the RAC to Europewide.

I use First Call GB (am with Chris Knott Insurance) £54.50 per year.

• Home start
• Roadside assistance
• Roadside repairs
• Recovery to home address, onward destination or nearest garage
• Overnight accomodation
• European cover (30 days)
• 6 callouts per year

Recovery also includes that of trailers and caravans. Any driver is covered whilst driving insured vehicle. As I drive a VW, I haven't had the misfortune of using them.

costs generally depend upon age of car and length of trip

I took out AA European cover for a trip to Italy last year, and had to make use of their services when the clutch broke on the 1st day

The service was perfect - I couldn't have asked for anything more from them.
