Guys,
Already thinking about a Sports Exhaust for the 996 next year.Been told that the Cargraphic one is good, sounds the business and extra Power (approx 18bhp)
Anyone any experience of this?

Steve, I was going to mention you should get a sports exhaust on your new car to complement the GT3 look.I thought it might look a little cheeky & didn't want to tarnish the experience of early ownership.it seems you were already clearly on that wavelength.
As for sports exhausts i don't know much about the cargraphics one to be honest..The sports exhaust from Porsche costs a fortune & doesn't offer any power increase just an audio improvement.
But as it costs a bomb, the RUF gets a good review but most votes & reccomendations for power & noise combo seem to be for the Fabspeed.
I don't think it will be long before the Tubi boys start posting.

Anything by Roock should be pleasant to the ear.

I was a fan of Roock until I started reading various Forums & I am amazed at the number of people who seem to have problems not only with the product but also the level of service.I am not putting them down, but would step carefully if I was looking to purchase anything.

Have you seen the one from Porsche that ahs the button on the dash that turns the thing on or off???? I had the pleasure last weekend on a 996 Cab dem on in Bristol. I thought it was the biz!!
I sometimes leave the house early in the morning and the idea that once I am around the corrner I can flick a switch and WAM! full on sports!

Not sure about the price, I think it is somewhere around the grand mark.

cheers

Porsche sports exhaust is £1160 on a new car...more if you want it retro fitted i am told..I like the principle of the switch, but it does not offer any more power over the std exhaust. The facelift 996 have a much rortier sound than the older model 996 as it is.
The porsche exhaust has the advantage of keeping the warranty valid, but I would prefer to spend £700 on an aftermarket system that could show a gain in performance as well as sound,of course once the warranty period was up.

Steve - I've sent you a reply.

Hey Clubsport - we're more like:
"Tubi/Techart/RUF/Fabspeed/Cargraphic/Fuchs/Hamann... etc etc etc boys."

That was shameless.....

fabspeed one is the muts nutts, its bout 700 including a nice pair of tailpipes and sounds really deep and purposeful. had one on my c2 coupe

none of the nasty rasipness or resonance you occassionally get and an absolute work of art - if you see one you will want it.

Regarding the FAbspeed exhaust....
Did you fit it yourself.??.because I heard a few of the U.S. users do. If not how much was it to install.
As for the warranty, well in the U.S. apparently the FAbspeed system doesnt invalidate it over there.
I suppose it should be possible to get an Official Porsche centre to fit one. (After all they fitted my Tech Art lowering kit)
