Can anyone point me in the direction of a full explanation of which engines are included in the data reports the keyword assistant returns?

Ive heard that the figures this tool gives can be doubled to gain a fairly accurate representation of actual UK searches - can anyone shed more light on that, or validate the claim?

Comparing those figures to what we are seeing from google adword searches they don't seem to me to match up too well.

Whilst that is a pretty unscientific comparison, to give you an idea - our second highest search term doesn't even come up as a suggestion at all when typing in our highest search term. By "highest" I mean the one that generates the most clicks.
