I have just upgraded the front brake callipers and discs to 278mm and Escort cosworth 4x4 callipers.... I need to replace the rear discs as they are badly worn anyway.
What size would anyone recomend ????
Steve.

How much has the piston area and leverage changed at the front? If the change is significant you may need to change the piston area or leverage (i.e. disc diameter) to correct the brake balance. Obviously if you change the diameter you need to reposition the calipers to suit, so if you don't want to do that you need to keep the rear disc size exactly the same and just buy some new standard discs.

When i changed mine last year a specialist indy that did them recommended that they stay the same as they only do about 20/30% of the braking - if you've upgraded the fronts that should be enough for you...

If you've already got vented stay with vented as they will cool quicker than solids - not sure if they are intechangeable though...

Mine are solid and was wondering if the vented ones will fit or will i need to change the callipers due to increased disc thickness ??

I'm pretty sure that the solid ones are slightly smaller - i would imagine the vented ones on your car would need spacers to take the extra witdth ??

They won't fit, they're a different size.
