E30 M3

I am thinking about buying an E30 M3 - but having only ever sat in one, want to know what they are really like before I spend my hard earned on one... Is there anyone who would be prepared to take me out in one - Hampshire area , will provide beer tokens obviously... Thanks

Fantastic cars,just don't be expecting it to be mega powerful.Some people are a little disappointed that a 20 year old,4 cylinder naturally aspirated car,doesn't blow the doors off a new Scooby.

Body:Check for rust under the windscreen rubber bottom corners, the rear wheel arches, under the fuse box and all the normal places a 20 year old car might have rust. Don't believe all you might have read about timing chains on these cars, as its largely crap. Gearbox rattles is layshaft bearings on their way out,think £300-500 for a rebuild.Diffs are strong as are brakes. HTH
