Opinions on price - 2004/53 TT X50
Discussion
Opinions please, been offered an Artic Silver with Grey Leather Turbo X50 as a private sale and interested in opinions on what it's worth?
Spec as follows:
UK car
Manual
7K miles
Under Porsche GB warranty
Service not due until 12k+ miles
PCM II
Telephone module
Heated front seats
Rear parking
Cruise
Heated front seats
Ruffled leather
Large Aluminium pack
White dials
X50 performace pack
Silver/Grey is far from my first choice but have been looking for a long time to find my ideal colour combination with the right spec. so may bite the bullet on this one?
Obviously as it's private I would get all the necessary checks, inspections, etc done first?
What's a reasonable target price?

Thanks Adam ... Same sort of ballpark as I was thinking but would consider pitchng in a bit lower based on the fact it wasn't my ideal car ... shame because everything else is right!
Never thought it would be so difficult finding a black/black manual car with a half decent spec!
Any other opinions?

boysey - looks like we are in competition!
could live with the arcitc but not the light grey interior
also looking for manual black/black but want ali pack and ali dials (I find std interior too dark) but gt depressed about how many nearly-perfect cars have been ordered with the ghastly slushmatic

Yes, I cannot understand the scarcity of a manual 996tt The OPC network have about 5, but plenty of gaytronic cars. In fact the porsche website currently does not have the option to select manual for 996 tt in their car selector. My local OPC has three autos, and the other nearest one has a further couple, but no manuals!!

Tried it again. Under 911, select turbo, and I get manual. Under 996 I don't.
What is the opinion of PCM: how much of a premium over one without should you pay, or is it now just a desirable option?
all IMHO
very desirable option and only getting more so (eg how many 997s get bought without the nav module), not a question of paying a premium, more discounting one without it.
For me the dash just looks a bit crap without it (usual dull Porsche ICE plus rather naff oddments trays and a 1990s ex-Audi aircon unit). The PCM unit looks great, provides a good display for stereo and hides the aircon. Also think the tel module works well with it.
there are reasons that a tomtom is better - more futureproof, switch from car to car but I prefer an integral unit w/o wires all over the place and don't believe the roads i use will really change that much during the few years I own a car
I stress that all these comments relate to PCM2. I will not consider a car older than 52 plate purely coz I don't want PCM1 which doesn't looks as good (separate nav disk loader) and actually has a tape layer instead of a CD player so you need to rely on the 6CD changer (whic I never do)
Adam,
Does indeed sound like we are after the same cars!!! Have to agree about the over abundance of tiptronic cars, I even had to ask myself if I could live with one just so that I could get into a car quicker!!! After a quick word with myself I opted to continue the search!!
The grey interior doesn't look as bad as I first feared but certainly not as nice as the black! I am constantly arguing with myself telling myself that I may have to compromise on "something" and the other part of me says why should I compromise if I am paying £60k+ for a car?!?!?
Let's see who finds one first!!! It seems like the silver car I am looking at is actually a September 2003 not 2004 but if I can getthe right price I may still have to buy it!!!

sure it will be you as I would prefer to save for a few more months for a bigger deposit (and save an extra £500 per month depreciation)
there are some about but I am being very picky (as you say why not when its £50-60k of my dosh), did find a good miles black/black with good spec but the red stitching put me off (I did say I was picky)
would you be interested in a 7k seal grey one which had nice spec which I almost bought?
PM me for details as the dealer is a muppet, quotes hilarious opening prices and can't even get the spec right
