Hello All,

I'm soon to be the proud owner of a new Elise - my first ever new car and my first forray into the world of Lotus. I've been hankering after an Elise for some time now and can't wait to pick the new motor up in March. I've already got it booked on to several driving holidays, including Le Mans.

Anyway - here are some pics of the car. I took a sneaky peek at the dealer today - can't believe I have to wait a couple more weeks before I can drive it away!

I'm looking forward to getting to know you all in this forum and meeting some of you at a few Lotus do's.

Mel

Very nice. where are you getting it from.? the shot in your profile looks identical to two cars at my dealer here in devon.
Great choice. sure you will have fun.

What do you mean? the dealer has the car already but you still have to wait a couple of weeks?? why?? does he want to make more advertising/commersie for that car? or more people can drive in it? or its his only "demo" or use it so? strange?
or are there other reasons?

Thanks, that helps indeed so its your "own" choise...to get the new numberplate...you must be very strong then to wait that long when its so close to you...
Have fun driving in a few weeks and welcom

The dealer is Castle Lotus in Stansted - they have been absolutely brilliant - I can't possibly fault them.

GTRene - swilding is right, it's a new car, but I'm waiting for an 06 plate. I'll be picking the car up on 8th March. It's the earliest I can get to the dealer as I'm away the week before.

Lorraine - yes, I have been to many Mid Essex TVR meets - my boyfriend (ehasler) has a black Tusacn S. A TVR and Lotus - what a good combination to have in the garage!

Hi
I thought I recognised you

Thats exactly what we have a TVR and a Lotus

A great combination. Makes you everytime you look in the garage.

Let me know if you are taking it to the meet and I will take mine.

Bet you can't wait until the 8th March. I can - thats my birthday - (another year older )

Lovely car

In all honesty that new plate will be worth the money at trade in time.. anyway - that's a long way away!

Great buy! I look forward to hearing your first driving impressions

Nice one Mel - I've so far managed to restrain myself from having a sneaky peek at mine! (Which oddly enough topcat, is one of the cars you'd have seen at the Dealer in Devon!!)

8th March eh? Cripes, that's gotta hurt even more! I'm grabbing mine on the 1st and thats that!!

Good girl... you know it makes sense!

Clive (who sent you a 'pleasant surprise' email a week ago... was it only a week ago? Seems like an eternity )

Stunning car - looks beautiful - and what a dream garage - maybe I'll try and get hubby to swap his nice shinny 110 Defender for something a bit less practical!!!

It's a red one topcat - and as with most Elises / Exiges, photos just don't do them justice... The SR looks stunning in the flesh (...well ally & glass )

By the way, your Exige does look amazing! No wonder you "can't see yourself ever parting with it" - Fair play!

Nice choice Mel
I usually don't like stripes on cars, but these ones (like a few others I've seen on elises) really fit the car only things IMHO that could make it a bit better would be red side mirrors and black wheels (but then I'm biased, being a big fan of the darkest colour ).
Needless to say, have as much fun as you can with your new red ...and then some more

GTRene, seems like we have very similar tastes in cars... in fact my exige is waiting for her new friend sagaris to join her in the garage think the combination lotus/tvr works really great, and even if I'm not at all the first to say it, it may probably sound strange if you think of an italian garage with two (100%) british cars inside

That should look awesome in a Italiën garage 2 british cars and yes I also have a weak spot for TVR, I had 2 of them in the past with V8 and I love that grunt but then after about a half year I miss the screeming bmw M engine's and the good roadholding and easy to play with power of cars like Elise/Exige...but I can't pay 2 of such cars sadly but great fun they are never the less

Fab! My first new car was a S1 Elise. I was 24 years old! Couldn't afford to eat mind, but then, who needs food?

Enjoy it! I still regret selling my last Elise, a S2 111S.
