What started out as a quick replacement of the manifolds (due to cracks) has led to the car being off the road for several weeks.
First the studs broke off... so I drilled a pilot hole to take a screw extractor... which snapped off in the pilot hole... so I had to remove the heads and this where the fun started as I forgot to mark the position of the dizzy before I removed it!!!
I have followed the intructions in the Capri Haynes manual and set it up as best I can but she won't start.
Anybody out there who can help?
Thanks in Advance

Find top dead centre on no.1 piston ... you will be somewhere near.
There are two TDC, make sure you choose the one with the valves closed. One turn of the engine may help.
There is only the one TDC for no1 piston the other is TDC for number No5 but like tvrgaas says the valves will be closed.
have you sorted out your dizzy,if not give us a shout i have some info that will be useful, i bought from tvr many years a go it is a comprehensive manual for the wedge 280i which has the same engine give or take a few daft relays, also remember the dizzy has a helical gear which will alter your setting as you push it home you should have no problem re timing your s,but if you have any probs just ask.

Sorry for lack of response to some of the posts - been out of the country. Will try again this weekend and post results.
Things seem to go from bad to worse for me at the mo - when I try and start her up I get sparks under the front cross member (below the rad) so assume I must have a earthing problem from the live feed to the starter motor...
TVR motoring - don't you just love it!!! but I wouldn't swap it for the world
