Was just wondering if anyone knows of any teams actively campaigning a Cerbera in an open class such as the British GT?

Also, given the current state of available performance and enhancements combined with the increase of information regarding the build for the Cerbera outside the factory what would be the issues in returning such a car to national motorsport as an independent team?

I am aware of a couple of attempts / previous campaigns by factory backed and independent teams and was wondering if the technology has increased to a point where previous issues with the car could be resolved?

Lastly. How competitive do you think the Cerbera would be against the other British GT - GT3 class entries such as the Marcos & Morgan Aero?

The rules are very tight and strict adherence is what screwed the AJPV8 Cerbie up originally.... so you will NEVER see a V8 cerbera in GT sadly.
Especially nowadays theres sooo much to choose from to enter competition and some even already 80% ready for pro racing, so costs wise and research wise, most of its already done, the cerbie V8 would be a pain in the arse to set-up right and then theres the costs!

Who owns Martin Shorts old Speed 6 Cerbera now anyway? She was one speed6 that really showed the rest! I'd love to know the exact number of rebuilds she had over her whole racing career....

There were enormous problems making Martin Short's car into a racer. You only had to look at all the bizarre ducting to the rear diff to get a hint of some of the issues.

the original cerbera gt car was little more than a silhouette racer too .. and was plagued with mechanical gremlins which slowed development of what was a very pretty race car. Even the might of Colin BLower (and no-one wuold deny he isn't a very gifted race car preparer and driver) couldn't make it a competitive proposition.

The SP6 version of Shortie's was pretty good though, and showed the factory SP12 the way to go on the right circuit .. but I guess a lot of lessons had been l;earned by then anyway.

I would love to see a cerbie back in racing though .. we have one that's going to be playing in the tuscan/tvrcc series this season all fingers crossed .. on the a fast long circuit like silverstone it might surprise a few people, I hope so anyway being a die-hard cerbie fan
