GT3 front bumper

The time has come to sort out the stone chips on the front of my 996 with aerokit and whilst I am at it I want to put xome mesh into the air ducts to afford some protection to the rads. is it a simple job to remove the housing as it seems to be just a plastic skin over a framework.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Do a search on RennTech or Rennlist for a third radiator install. It has all the details and it is a p.o.p.

Matter of fact my front is currently in my lounge being fettled, took it off not i/2 and hour ago.

While you are at it clean out the crud lodged behind your a/c rads....

I fixed my mesh with tiny cable ties, as I didnt want to fork out loads of dosh on the Carnewal kit.

Is there any risk that the mesh restricts the air flow too much?

I bought mine from carnewal 18 months ago and got it colour coded
it does not restrict airflow but keeps out all the cigarette butts,litter and small birds

It has to restrict airflow to some small extent as it is sheet with small holes in it as opposed to one big hole.

It must restrict the flow of air but in my experience, not adversely.

I fitted mine mid august 05 and I have noticed no discernable change in engine temp, although my car does have 3 rads, so should be able to control temperature rise better than a standard 996.

It did not have to withstand the extremes experienced at Spa (v hot) nor Le Mans (V v hot) but I have no qualms.

I think it has to restrict airflow, Porsche didnt leave it open for no reason..... Stil wont stop car from eating foxes!..!! Not that mine has ever had any mid-night snacks!!?!

Well, all I can say is that firstly Porsche do a kit of mesh for it and secondly it doesn't restrict the airflow as much as the bird's nests, leaves, crisp packets, badgers, underwear, sweet wrappers, squatters etc that usually are found crammed in there at the end of each week at carwash time.
