Update - The birthday treat

Just wanted to update those that helped with ideas and offers following my wife posting last week.

Several people suggested that my wife have a word in the ear of Racing Green to see if a drive could be arranged with Phil Keen. Well that happened yesterday and I've just about managed to stop grinning ... My cheeks (on my face!) were hurting rather a lot by the end of it.

Phil took me out in a Sagaris around some nice twisty (private!) lanes and really showed a huge level of car control and gave me some idea of what this car can really do.

I was rather surprised to hear him say that he was sorry that he hadn't been able to give it much welly as the (private!) roads were a bit busier than usual.

I then got to have a spin and showed him how little car control I have. I can see why so many people are singing his praises, and I look forward to following his progress this year.

We had a great afternoon with all the chaps at Racing Green and they really looked after us well. A big thanks to Colin and John for spending so much time with us and for getting this organised with no fuss whatsoever.

We hope to come along and see you with a chequebook at some point in the future!

Looking forward to meeting up with the Surrey TVRCC crowd on Thursday.
