Just got back from a speaking engagement to find some thieving pikey fkwit has nicked my wallet, probably on a (fecking packed) tube...

I've cancelled the cards, but won't get new ones until the new year. I fly out to Spain on Saturday night to stay with my girlfriend's family for Christmas, and I'd taken out my last bit of cash to buy presents tomorrow morning. Now I can't even afford to get the fking train to Gatwick on Saturday, let alone buy pressies...

FK IT.

Thank God I *didn't* catch him doing it - I would have torn his windpipe out

Same thing happened to a mate of mine a while ago; bank finally worked out which end of the stick they were on and sorted cash out..

Depending on who they are, it might just work..

Hope it works out..

Ben,
sorry to hear you have had such shitty luck. Hope you manage to get something sorted, and that things look up for the rest of the xmas break.

All the best,
C

Sorry to hear that mate. Hope it gets sorted. Your bank should be OK to hand some cash over. I got done not long ago: ambush at cash machine after dark (tottenham court road). WARNING on their method: a couple of 'em stand in queue and "crowd" from the back, just a bit, and noisy. Then some geezer walks up beside you and drops something just next to your foot, says excuse me and and picks it up: a wad of notes, so naturally you get distracted. Next thing you know, your moneys rolling out the machine, then you take 10 secs to figure out your card's never popped out, 'cos it was nicked. Never take your eyes off the machine!!!
All the best, sorry it had to happen just before the Xmas hols. Xmas is great for those fers

I've just remembered why he originally said it as well, and it kinda puts things in perspective.

I've just had a couple of with an old mate, I've got Norah Jones on the stereo and all is well with the world

I made a promise to myself on the ice last year that I wouldn't waste too much of my life chasing money and things - when I was cold & tired & lonely, I certainly didn't miss my car, or my widescreen tv. All I missed were the people close to me, and the wonderful experiences we'd had.

SO - it's only money. Thanks for the support guys, and Merry Christmas y'all
Oh, and if you haven't already, have a to Norah Jones's album ("Come away with me")

Excellent philosophy Ben, and one i wholeheartedly agree with - you can measure wealth in a number of ways - one of which is money and assets, another of which is people - ie, you may not have much money, but if you have a caring family, loving wife and good health then you are truly wealthy. Obviously a Ferrari is a nice addition tho

Ben... sorry to hear that mate... hope the bar-steward got run-over later than day...

Friend of mine caught someone trying to pinch his mobile... grabbed his hand, turned round and decked him... ended up in court on GBH charges or something stupid...
