Right - he's finally had enough and turned his back on us, thanks to a few less than thoughtful individuals who have weighed in on him in a quite unhelpful fashion recently.

Personally, I've learned a lot from MadCop's contributions; bringing vast experience, impeccable knowledge of the law and a wonderfully dry sense of humour to the boards.

In an email I sent to him a few minutes ago, I told him that he has many friends amongst us.

Show yourselves, guys & girls.

cheers

Signature added - in full support. Not only to stay on, but to keep the inside information flowing in our direction .

I can't think of anywhere else on the web where people like us (i.e. those who enjoy motoring and speed) can converse about topics important to us with someone who is so willing to offer us advice and qualified opinion both with a sense of humor and without taking a "speed kills" attitude.

But that SHOULDN'T be read to mean that all we want madcop for is as a sounding board for our speeding related woes, m'kay?

I really hope that a series of pissy comments from ill informed will not see us saying goodbye to a top PHer.

Carz, I would have thought that the community bestowing an award on him would be proof enough, should any be needed, of the high esteem in which he his held. If he has indeed deserted these pages, it is a sad day.

Yeah, well there've been a lot of new people come along to whom this accolade is unknown or as yet unesteemed.

Also, if MadCop's still around, I'd just like to be able to demonstrate the number of us that are behind him so that he can at least get some perspective against which to weigh up the handful of regrettable outbursts that have beset him recently.

I must confess that I have been skipping a lot of threads lately. When did this happen?

It would be a sad day indeed if Mapcop left us. He's got my support, of course.

Well, although I don't know him personally, I have every respect for the chap, and the job he does. I may not agree with some of the laws he has to uphold, but the world would be a quite frightful place without rules, right. Please add my name to the enevitably long list that wish him nothing but well.

Absolutely. I concurr 100% with the above. The board will be a poorer place without MC...

Madcop - don't go you are needed here.

Please don't let the comments of a couple of trolls make you turn your back on the rest of us here at PH.

Never met him - would be pleased to do so. Every respect for his postings and the time and detail he puts into explaining what he puts in.

We need far more guys in his profession with his attitude. Hope he makes it to the top.

The wide range of expertise and experiences of the contributors make this PH community what it is; unrivalled.

I hope that Madcop has also enjoyed his time on the forum, and we have from time to time amused, interested, educated and engaged him in stimulating discussion.

Most importantly though, I have found his knowledge and responses to be spot on. We value your contributions Steve, so please stick around.

CarZee, I would like to add my name to the list. Without the thoughful and thought provoking input from Madcop and his colleagues this place would not be worth half what it is. (Sorry Ted, nothing bad meant)

I have conversed with Steve in many forums here, and emailed him off line as well, and from his posts, although I have never met him, he has my respect for someone making a career of something I would not choose to do. As he has said before, he only upholds the law, not makes them.

Madcop, if you are listening, we need you to help keep us aware and enlightened on the law.

Never asked him for advice, but what I have read of his posts, he seems to be the type of person this country needs more of (in general, not just his profession).

Hopefully he is just busy, on holiday or otherwise engaged.

If he has left he will be missed

I fully agree.

People vote for the politicians - and get the government they deserve.

Madcop - nil carborundum.

Don't blame the who can't cope with that.
