Hi Guys,

I Have an S2 Type 23 elise and I appear to be having problems filling the car at perol stations. I had her now since August last year so I know how to approach the nozzle...turning etc...

I have found two or three petrol ststions with nozzles that will fit but this could be a problem on long journeys.

Has anyone else experienced this problem and can anyone shed any light on a cure please as it is quite frustratinf and not very cool standing there like an idot trying to get petrol into your car!

Regards,

Mac

just find it needs a fair bit of wiggling to get it in the hole!

oh err missus!

I think I also go in at a slight angle, with the bend in the nozzle pointed towards the door. You just need to make sure you get a fair way in as I have had it spraying out all over me... which wasn't pleasnt

again... oh err missus!

lol...Sorry, I wasn't very clear. The nozzle never goes in far enough without catching on the filler pipe and doesn't go in far enough to open the little flap, so the petrol just cuts off straight away no matter how I twist and turn. It's like the pipe is at too far an acute angle???? I've had the car months now and my friend doesn't have this problem with his S2?

Some fuel pumps do seem to spray fuel all over the side of the car, and my foot!

HI FIXED ONE WITH SAME PROBLEM A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO,HAVE A LOOK AND SEE IF THE FILLER NECK REDUCER THAT HAS THE FLAP IN HAS BROKEN AWAY AND DROPPED FURTHER DOWN INTO RUBBER HOSE,IF IT HAS ITS NEEDS TO BE REMOVED FROM THE CAR AND REWELDED BACK INTO PLACE.

Maybe it's another problem, but I do find it just needs jiggling to get it in past the little flap. It's a kind of lift, twist, shake action to get the notches on the nozzle past the filler neck...

Umm, you are aware that derv and petrol fillers have different sized nozzels? Does the car start to smoke soon after you've filled her up?
