Having sourced an OEM VW head unit I now need to get it fitted to the Touareg...

In theory its take out existing head unit, and slot in satnav while connecting the right wires in the right places.......but I'd rather pay someone who know's what they're doing than end up in a mess...!!!

Could take it to VW but thats got to be costly....

Any suggestions??

TIA

Is the GPS unit already in the car or does it have to be fitted? Does the OEM SATNAV fit the same slot? If so like you say should just be plug and play. Cant see VW changing the wiring for an optional extra, most cars already have the wiring for options already in the loom. Headunits are normally fitted with ISO connectors and you cant get them wrong.
I would say i'd have a look for you, your not too far from me if your worried or stuck

I got my Pioneer Avic Sat Nav fitted in my Chim by the chaps in Ipswich Road - off Colchester Ave.

Top guys - can't remember for the life of me what they're called though.

They had to be good for me to trust them with my P&J

They came recommended by Peter at Roath Garage - that was good enough for me.

Thanks chaps.

VW Techy has agreed to have a look so I'll try him first....but if it has to go "through the books" then I reckon I'll be off to Ipswich Road!
