My old policy is ending soon and the price hike for the cerbie is substantial because I am on a Lotus discount scheme. Classic line etc not very cheap for me. Any ideas other tan the obvious places?
I apologise for asking a question that i assume has been asked about 1000 times before!

Im with Direct Line. Whilst cheap and 'does what it says on the tin', with the couple of quid they charge here and there for European travel etc, and no track day cover, Im going to be looking to change this summer.
If all you want is to get yourself on the road cheaply, then they would be a good place to start.

After all the prangs of late I thought I'd double check the price of Cerb insurance, incase the brokers had gone all tuscan shy on me and hiked the prices.
I'm pleased to say its only £100 more than the V8S via sunninghill
, which to be fair, is probably more to do with the value than the risk.
Another hurdle in the route to cerb ownership removed

Got the impression sunnimghill didnt want cerb insurance. £1300. Mannings was £449.
I know they did this with Tuscans not so long back when they were getting stuffed on a daily basis, but I've only just renewed the V8S at the begining of this month and asked for a cerb quote at the same time so it litterally is a couple of weeks old. When did they quote you 1300
.I am down to 665 for classic cover. 6k miles and 150 excess which seems ok.
Tried the tesco etc through confused.com and they wouln't even quote!
I'll do a search for mannings in the morning and see what they have. If not, 665 it is. not bad at all, but I have to be able to do better than that!
As ever, thanks for the advice gents.

I was with classic last year. There quote was £100 more, but less excess. The problem with Classic, is that if you go to them with full NCD, because they dont use the NCD/protection, although they will hold on to 'proof of NCD', when you move away from them after a couple of years, you will have lost the NCD that you had built up, as it is only valid for 2/3 years.

Try Tesco online or Sunninghill with your previous performance car experience. The search facility should bring up the contact details.

Sunninghill have as from this month loaded their policys on Cerbera's due to some BIG claims in the last month. Their premiums went up £200-300. For me they are £375 more than then mainstream companys like direct line and Tescos etc

This has pssied me off somewhat, as I renewed with sunninghill on the understanding that I was changing over to a cerb sometime this year. I got a quote to make sure that when I change over there were no surprises and it was as simple as possible i.e. a phone call and minor excess to pay
. I hope for their sake they weren't aware of any cerb loadings before accepting my renewal

Try Admiral, they seem to be undercutting everyone for me at the moment.
Am about to try the multi car option / quote.
Actually the multi quote is just that - it isnt multi vehicle ins it is an ability to quote for all yoru renewals in one go. So no use to me ie cant share no claims etc....
AND the online software wont quote for me on the cerb despite living in one of the lowest risk areas, being in my late 30s, no claims, no points, tried with zero mods etc etc..... What a load of tosh - 'plse call us'.
Gazza, use confused.com and it should come back with a price. Did for me and I'm a slightly higher risk than you!
I did get a quote from a company a little while back for me on 3 cars that I owned. Didn't seem too bad but wasn't quite worth the money. Afaid i can't remeber the name of it at the moment though.
