Well we are nearly in NZ now !Hope to arrive mid April. First of all I want to bring in my wifes 2002 X5. I have checked with BMW NZ and they confirmed the car does not need a statement of compliance ( I sent photos of the VIN plate to them )We have owned the car for nearly 3 years in the UK. I need a compliance centre in the chch area. BMW NZ recommended Auto Repair Centre . 69 Byron Street. Chch. I have tried a search on them but cannot find an e-mail address . The compliance Manager there is a chap called Grant Matthews.

Also can someone who has recently imported something else European without the need for a statement of compliance please help me with all the paper work I need this end before the vehicle leaves the UK ?

The other point that concerns me is that we live down a gravel track which often gets muddy , thus the MAF inspection concerns me as I gather they need to be spotless underneath ?

Apologies for all the questions but we only found out that we were moving out last week !!

By the way...... got my Noble last week and did my first ever track day last Friday... fantastic car. This will follow to NZ next year hopefully !

Thanks and apologies for length of post
James

Hi James

I've found them on a number of directories but none have an e-mail address. The phone number is +64 3 366 6693

If nobody else can do better I can ring tomorrow afternoon to get an e-mail address.

No idea how good they are or whether there's anyone better in the flatlands . . . ooops . . . sorry . . . ChCh.

BTW - When you get the wagon steam-cleaned / jet-washed don't forget the spare wheel.

Flatlands!!! must be blind, havnt seen the port hills!?! View from my new pad is stunning!

MAF will charge you $100-200 for a steam clean if they dont like the cleanliness of the car.

And use Skype for phoning (or similar) dead easy.
