Cat 1 upgrade on key fob

Hi V8 mates. I'm trying to find out who can upgrade the present alarm system on my Monaro to a cat 1 system that the gods of Thatcham have waved their wand of making things difficult over.

I believe Clifford do an upgrade pack that some of the chaps here have used.

One of the cars on the forum was done at Thames car radio in Surrey, when I enquired the guy on the phone could not be precise about what was done but insisted the price would be circa £400, which for a upgrade I think is a bit steep, when a full cat1 alarm can be installed (toad ) for around £250. Just finding some company that can upgrade our alrm using Clifford parts to cat1 seems like order of the day.

I had the alarm upgraded at Thames Car Radio.

I was told it was not an alarm upgrade, they add a category 1 system onto the existing system, put another flashing LED in the dash, microphones by the windscreen etc...

I insisted that the Vauxhall dealer (Lance Owen) who sold me the car paid for the upgrade - was told it was about £400.

The key fob now operates both alarms
