Cherished Numbers
Discussion
Thought I'd write a quick note to tell anyone, who hasn't already done it, just how easy it is to by a cherished number from DVLA.
Week before last, I took a fancy to a personalised reg, so I went onto the DVLA web site.
Saw one I liked, rang them up and paid for it over the phone (£250, including VAT and the £80 assignment fee).
Paperwork entitling me to own the new reg arrived the next day.
Ordered the new plates from FancyPlates (£41, including vat and postage... needed the backlit special), slight delay due to postman strike in Belfast, but finally arrived yesterday.
Dropped in to my local DVLA office on way to work this morning took 5 minutes to process the necessary documentation.
Plates now on the car, and an even bigger grin on face when driving.
PS... I saved around £200 from buying directly from DVLA, as opposed to buying from one of the 'Transfer' companies
