Favourite toy as a child?

There is a programme on tommorrow night where celebrities talk about their favourite toys from the past.

What were Pistonheaders favourite toys? Doesn't just have to be a childhood toys, but no cars allowed.

Mine was a Sindy doll, couldn't afford a Barbie.

Otherwise, Lego Technic really was all things to all men IMO.. (too young for meccano you see )

Toy cars of course - could've been "Corgi" or "Matchbox" or whatever.

It was 2nd hand but i had a metal Triang E-Type convertible pedal car...don't know what happened to it but would be worth a fortune today.

Yep Lego, top toy.
Action Men, played with to distruction in the back garden.
Matchbox/Dinky toy cars continualy bashed into the skirting board, and would be worth a fortune now if they were still in the boxes

Anything remotely car related, preferably radio controlled. Porsches were my favourite.

Lego was great. Designed and built a buggy with four wheel independent double wishbone suspension when I was 8yrs old. Headmaster of primary school was amazed and put it on display. It was still there when I left nearly 4 years later...!

Yet another vote for LEGO, I even had one of my designs (wlaking dog thingy) published in the LEGO builders club magazine (sould I be proud of that)

First thing I ever wrote off was a Tonka, it may have been able to stand the weight of an elephant but it certainly couldn't stand being ridden down hills by an 8 year old (still got the scars from that one)

Edited to say: oops forgot, not first write off, that was a neigbours tricycle when I was 6, got the scars from that too

Got a mini snooker table when I was 13, the only other toy that held a lasting interest

Scalextric - fantastic I had the Black Capri and the White BMW, they were great.

Want a new one now as I have a 1971 Porsche car, but no track - roll on Birthday in Feb!

Oh the E-Type pedal car eh! Was it red? I went to a kids hospital type place when I was a kid that had one of these. If I was really good I could pedal it round for hours! I remember the lights worked - provided no other kid had ripped the battery out! It was indeed a treat to drive - used to make me look forward to visiting! Rich...

I was very keen on my Starbird - a big white plastic spaceship that made a rising whine when you pointed it up, and a neeeeeeeeeeeeeoooooooooowwww for the diving.
Unfortunately, i managed to dive it straight into the bath one night.

Rich B...my "E" was a light metallic blue colour with the lights...bet it looked good in red....maybe we should get Petrol Ted to open a seperate E Type pedal car section for gassing..

Off home to the folks for Christmas, they want me to sort out all the lego in the loft, oh what a chore

Of course being 28 I will derive no pleasure whatsoever from rebuilding the big lego technic car with the working differential

It was the one that started as an oval then sort of grew into a "fill the room" ones. Had an engine that smoked...rather puffed out smoke than puffed on B+H. And then I had a car track that grew. The crossovers, crashes, every thing. Banished to the attic when me mum wanted a room back.
