The 40/60 front/rear torque split keeps the handling tidy if you're ultra disciplined with the throttle when cornering. Go too large or too small with the throttle opening and you'll feel the weight in the nose very quickly. Unfortunately the power delivery isn't strictly linear, the engine getting a REAL gallop on at about 5,500rpm where you need to pay attention. It's a fantastically addictive car though and one that you'll bounce off the rev limiter all day long if you're not careful. There's a lot to like about this car but, as I mentioned in a different thread, I thought the humble A4 2.0T DTM was a far better balanced and more satisfying car.
The RS4 is all about the drama though.

Nice shot! Handling as good as press has suggested so far?
This weeks Autocar puts it behind the Cayman and M3.
Read that the other night, what I take from the article is that the Cayman & M3 are such good handling cars that finishing behind them is nothing to be ashamed of. I've also read 'best handling Audi ever' but that could just be headline grabbing given that the moniker is normally applied to the ur-Quattro (or Sport-Q)...
For most of the people most of the time, the RS4 will be a more satisfying and exciting car than the M3. If you are a very good driver, you'll get a bit more out of the BMW. The Audi's steering is a revelation given the company's reputation and the gearchange is sweet. Brakes are a little sharp at first and I do have a few reservations about cooling, but there's no doubting their bite. The Sport button makes the accelerator pedal a little too sensitive for composed B-road travel but it does inflate the optional sports seat bolsters. That really gets your attack face on.
Avant version looks interesting. Convertible is a big no-no in my book.

It's all in the timeing, without the "SLOW" being blurred in the bottom left I suspect this photo wouldn't have as much impact. Is a goodun.
agree with this. nice pic though @ 1/20s wonder how fast they were going.
I think the cars were doing about 30mph in that shot. We switched the cameras and did some slower stuff at Goodwood House that seemed to work pretty well.
I'll have to see the full run of shots at the weekend to pick the good 'uns but there was one high speed overtaking sequence that we were thinking of cobbling together as an animated gif.
