I purchased my Tamora last October (1 previous owner) and it has done 16000 miles. I have recently noticed a Tappet sound when at low revs, well it sounds like tappets to me. I have been quoted £290 for tappet adjustment by my local TVR dealer in Malmesbury. How often do the tappets need adjusting with the speed 6, or is this signs of more serious problems to come :-((((((((((((((((((

Could be just the standard timing belt sound of a speed6.

There are, arguably, better places to take it, which will be cheaper, and leave you feeling happier

Tappets need adjusting every 12k, but have mine done every service, ie/ 6k, for piece of mind. £290 sounds about the standard for this.

It could be bad fuel, (pinking) or the timing belt gone slack, rattling against timing cover. I had this after my engine was rebuilt, was easily rectified.
