I have Studio 9 and it doesn't seem to be enabled for PAL and I can't edit with it. How do I get PAL to work?

I'm pretty sure you know this... but just in case: NTSC is the USA std, Pal the UK std. 90% of NTSC stuff doesn't work on Pal.

Like that was a real help!

Yep, I knew that. Me thinks I have a USA version I wondered if it can be changed to PAL.

I bought my copy of Studio 9 in the UK and it does PAL only as far as I can see - its the only format option and its greyed out. Maybe the Ulead product would be better ?

Just looked on the FAQ on the Pinnacle site

Error message "Studio not enabled for PAL" when opening a file.

Answer
This FAQ only applies to Studio users in North America. European uses should not use Studio purchased in North America since it is NTSC only. 1. FILES ARE ENCODED IN PAL. There are many different formats of broadcast television. Most of these are not compatible with one another. The 2 most common formats are NTSC which is the standard in the United States and PAL which is used in Europe and other parts of the world. The North American version of Studio DV is NTSC only and it will not recognize files that are PAL encoded. If these files were captured using PAL settings/encoding, then they cannot be brought into the Studio (North American version).
