Hi Andy,
Good work! - I ordered my Exige S last weekend - (Spec: Sports pack, Aircon, Armourfend and S/exhaust) - That was the easy bit!

I've ordered mine in Graphite Grey but have been racking my brain all week as to whether it is the right colour?

This is my colour short list:

Graphite Grey:
+'s Looks very very sharp and cool, not to flash or boy racer ie Krypton etc.. & Will always look fairly clean
-'s Maybe I want it to stand out a bit more & not very safe, other road users won't see you coming.

Phantom Black
+'s Looks menacing
-'s A nightmare to keep clean, will show every mark & hides the lovely lines of the car

Solar Yellow:
+'s The old solid yellow looked great on the car even though it was a bit loud.
-'s The new yellow is met and has gold flecks in it which makes it less motorsport and more "bling bling" - I haven't seen the colour in the metal though!

Aspen White:
+'s Looks like a racing car without stickers
-'s Resale value It's a bold move and I could see myself regretting it!

Magnetic Blue:
+'s Looks goods, stands out without standing out too much
- 's Not very motorsport - More for classic shaped British cars XK8's TVR Chimera's etc....

Arctic Silver:
+ Looks fairly sharp
- Boring.... How many silver cars do you see on the road these days - This colour looks good but has had it's day!

Food for thought

Would really appreciate everybody else's opinions!

Cheers,
Joe

Cheers Rene - Love the picture, point taken it looks great! - Stands out without standing out too much!

Big favour required: As Rene did, could anyone who has an Exige in the colours I've short-listed post a picture of their car (I'd particularly like to see some good pic's of a graphite grey car as I've not seen this colour in the metal)

Much appreciated!

I think the Magnetic blue (above), the racing green (?) and Storm Titanium all look fab without being OTT

Hey there Joe,

I think you've made the right choice with the Graphite Grey. For me, it was a toss up between the graphite grey and the chrome orange. In the end, I went with the graphite grey for the following reasons:

-> Looks good at night (grey-ish)
-> Has a nice blue in it when the sun's out
-> It's timeless
-> Not too obvious as the chrome orange... I like to thing you'll be less noticed by cops either :P
-> The graphite-grey body with the black wing / rims / intakes looks excellent
-> Not many have a graphite grey one overhere (not sure about the UK)
-> It looks good in all situations from night to daytime, in the city, industrial or in the alps (which is pretty much why I wouldn't have went with the krypton green eventhough it's an amazing colour)

Now, here are 9 pictures I took of a graphite grey one; Note that some of the photos were taken with the sun out and some when it was reasonably cloudy:

Hope this helps,
Cheers Phil

Phil, That's brilliant!!

Fantastic my mind is made up!

Graphite Grey is 100% the way forward - I was wondering if under different light conditions it could end up looking a dull dirty grey but instead it is very much a sharp gunmetal (Blue tint).

Thanks,
Joe

Excellent, I'm glad I was able to help. Congrats by the way! When are you getting it?

BTW; Not sure if you saw the link at the end of the post - but you can view all 9 pictures when you follow it. For some reason I was only able to use the img-tag for 8 pictures I think, so I cut it down to 5.

Mine is due to arrive mid April - Perfect for the start of summer!

Yeah I found the link - The last picture (3/4 shot) was the clincher for me!

There is no doubt over colour now.

Cheers,
Joe

Try looking at profile now now for gulf livery - seems to have changed this time!!
If not, will have a bash at uploading pic. Anyone suggest a site to host the pic?
