I now find out that my car may never leave the clutches of Tilbury and I may need to send it home! Apparently that even though I was told I could bring it into the country and put it on the road under a Temporary Import. I'm now told that it is not allowed to be registered on the road here unless it's a personal import which I can't do as I only bought it a month before my transfer came through so I'd only owned it for 4 months when it left NZ!!!! F@#K. Choice is likely to be.... pay 27% of the value in VAT and Excise duty, pay out another 2,000 pounds for SVA and related costs plus 1,500 for insurance (huge)!!! or send it home (thats if they accept the reason in NZ I'm sending it back without me) and give it to the Moyes Dealership and lose money that way!.... I should start a Blogg or write a book.

If it is a temporary import you should be able to import it under a carnet
