As a new member I'm very happy to join this forum - got a few questions for you guys (and girls) but on slow release, promise...!

Just thought I'd let you know that for anyone around the Kingston-on-Thames area needing paint repairs, I can seriously recommend Lee Chaplin of Chipsaway. He's just repaired 3 areas on my 944 Turbo and his quality is first rate. He's even coming back next week to finish a final 'blending' with surrounding areas...

I have nothing to do with him at all, just a very happy (and relieved!) customer. His # 07951 268 603, if you're interested.

Cheers

Tony.

David

£150 + VAT for 2 key scratches and 1 scuff, including spending an hour removing one of those rear arch plastic stoneguards (completely stuck after 20 years...not just a hairdryer job, despite what some people say!!).

I'll let you know what the final job is like when he's finished on Monday...for now, superb.

Cheers

Thanks Tony, I have three small areas I need doing on mine, took it to a body shop and they suggested whole panels done for a cool £2,300 plus VAT. Let me know how it turns out.

Lee came round yesterday to finish the paint blending - the result is awesome - he is such a perfectionist (even more than me!).
BIG RECOMMENDATION

Hi Mike

Well, the colour match looks very good to me - he seems to take care to get the match right.
Let us know how you get on if you call him!
Thanks

I forgot - does anyone have any advice on how to remove those blessed vinyl stoneguards on the 944 ? Is it a hairdryer/plastic knife job or is there a foolproof alternative ?
I'd also like to hear about applying new ones, as I've just got fingerprints over my first attempt trying to position it (fierce adhesive) so I need to buy another and have another go....!!!!!!
