No, nothing to do with the Tuscan in the recent tart fuel ad - but nice to see them getting exposure.

Just been told by insurance company that taking out the cats on the Griff (1999) will not affect the policy.

So......is it technically legal to do this? If the insurers are happy then it must be. I know they need sticking back in for the MOT.

And what is the benefit? A much louder noise with which to annoy speed bump mandarins, plus a better breathing engine?

Search the archive. It's also covered in the bible. It is in a gray area legally and will require the ECU to be rechipped and a new set of manifolds. Budget £1000 and you will get some change.

Changes the noise but does very little unless the cat was knackered in the first place.

I,d get them to put that in written for you if you do go ahead with it.

You know what some companies are like when it comes to make a claim.They try and do anything to get out of paying you the full amount if anything.
