My guess is that it was referring to the 05 VXR with headers etc. however maybe 'they' realised that wasn't possible without changing internals (cam etc.) and took it down again?

MIght be worth waiting until hte '08 Monaro. Standard CV8s wil be LS2 with 400bhp and the HSVs may well get the LS7 with 505bhp to play with. At least, that's the current thinking on the American forums. The 'Ro , GTO and Camaro will all share the Zeta platform as well.

The LS2 will be available in the Berlina, Calais, SV8, SS, Statesman, Caprice, SSute, Crewman SS, and the Cross8 this year apparently. 'There is a good chance HSV will launch a limited edition 7.0 litre LS7-powered 'Super Coupe' mid year, according to sources deep within the HSV machine' - that's what they say in this months Street Machine Commadores mag.

Actually I think you will find the 6L engine is the L76 truck based engine with DOD disabled, and its available now in the V8 models.
The LS2 is an HSV only engine due to an agreement with Holden to keep the HSV models exclusive.
Take a look at the Holden.com.au site and other internet sites for more info.

Thanks Caspy

I read somewhere that DOD would be available on those models.
Maybe its a marketing plan with two stages.

Yeah, I think they had to rush it out to comply with new emissions laws, so left off DOD at this stage.
Id have thought with economy and green environmental stuff around the place they would want it.
Im pretty sure this engine is slated for the VE models due Aug-> so we might see DOD appear with the new models.
