26th Jan - Run What Ya Brung...
Discussion
Hello all,
I have been meaning to get along to Santa Pod for a while now to see what the Cerb can do. The next opportunity is 26th Jan - for £25 you get as many races as you can fit into the day.
I shall be attending with a few mates. Anyone else up for it? I may need moral support when I get outstripped by a supercharged Vauxhall Chevette. Anyway, it would be nice to have a race angainst a couple of other Cerbs....or a Tuscan?
So who is up for it? The races are a standing ¼ mile track at the European Drag Racing strip in Santa Pod (about 10 miles from Bedford).

£25? Blimey, that's gone up. It was about £15 or so the last time I went (last year some time).
I would strongly recommend it to anyone who fancies a laugh, though. Drag racing is more difficult than it looks. You have to be magnanimous in defeat, though, when some b*gger in a Fiat 500 mullahs you (although the Fiat 500s in question have short-block Chevy V8s in them).
Don't forget your insurance doesn't apply ...

Hello again,
From what I can gather insurance is not required - neither are helmets and you don't need to tape your lights up.
Since it is in a straight line insurance should not be a worry.
Venue normally opens at 8.00am with track runs starting at 10.00am-5pm. Normal admission £9 plus one-off signing on fee of £15 for unlimited runs.
