They seem quite narrow for the rear no?
Is this to keep the wheel size down to prevent contact on full suspension compression?

(My Griff has 245s as standard)

TVR fit 245 tyres on their 7.5" rims, but IMO this is pushing things a bit. 225 is the right size for those rims.

Think the general thinking is that 17" are about the limit though 18's will fit. [all from what I sourced on PH threads] In the end I went for 7.5 x17 all round with offset of 35.

Thanks Pete - I remember you mentioning about the slightly stretched standard tyres on TVR rears. I'm considering a switch to 17's but the very last thing I want to sacrifice is rear grip. I definitely wouldn't want to go to 18s as I think this might be form over function.

Having trawled for info I wonder whether these sizes make sense?

Front - 7.5" rims with 25mm offset and 225/40/17
Rear - 8" rims with 37.5mm offset and 245/40/17 (0.1% different in rolling radius)

Any comments gatefully received.

Cheers

Marco

If and when the search facility is working again, look up this thread:
Max wheels size on chim?" started by "jeffstelling" on 17/2/05 on this forum. Full of useful info and ideas. There are lots of threads of this subject. Check my profile for an example of a 17/18 inch combo.
