Ok has anyone heard any whispers regarding HSV in the UK?

Looks like they are doing the full range. Not sure when or where (national dealers etc)

Anyone got any rumours and hearsay?

Ken Page is the main person, he is away for next couple of weeks in AUS sorting out some bits and pieces. Expect more info latter half to end of March regarding exactly what they are doing.

What did attract my attention is in this months Vauxhall Versatile magazine, is the article about the VXR range , is that the red (fastest Colour) VXR Monaro they used for the photo,s is sporting HSV premium brakes, the uk upgrade are ap racing calipers, and there appears to be in the under bonnet shots a new type of ajustable suspension, different to what the wortec systems are. Is this the Ohlien system offered in Austrailia as a HSV upgrade, so could this car be the demo for the first HSV-TWR tuning center? Perhaps Stu could elaborate!

Apparently, HSV have been in contact/visiting the VXR dealerships that were/are selling the Monaro with regards to supplying aftermarket tuning and accessories.

Shame they didn't do this at the launch of the Monaro in the UK. Mind you, if they do let the VX dealerships loose with HSV bits, will Vx still be as pig headed as to refusing to let CV8 owners have 'HSV' parts and tuning goodies put on their cars. Tail lights is a current example.

The car is one of the VX press/course cars. They had AP/HSV brakes and ohlin adjustable suspension. The brakes were pre the uk ones being available.

The decsion not to allow HSV bits to be sold to non HSV owners was one that Vauxhall had to adhere to to, to allow them to sell the cars in the UK. Not their decsion. However it does protect the brand, and especially in Aus, the value of the HSV brand is that important.

Ok, sorry I wasn't aware of that but when you see VXR parts ie badges and body trim (ie Astra) being made so readily available by some parts suppliers on ebay it does get you wondering.

I don't want to put a VXR body kit on my CV8 and rebadge it as a VXR, but some of the mechanical upgrades would be quite nice. The only thing of appearance I did want off the VXR was the tail lights and I did manage to easily source a genuine brand new set from OZ for a fraction of what Vauxhall would be able to supply them to me if I was a VXR owner.

Aftermarket stuff can be better than HSV stuff, but you of course have no brand value.

A stock HSV is an excellent vehicle if you can afford it.

So to clarify as Caspy says we (and any HSV dealer in OZ) are contractually not allowed to sell HSV parts to non HSV owners. In Oz you have to present your documentation of HSV ownership to purchase any HSV part.

TWG will be up and running soon and you'll be able , in principle , to purchase HSV aproved parts through them. As has been mentioned they are contacting current Monaro dealers to see what sort of parts are required.

If you want to be of use you could list in this thread what parts people would like to see?

As to the Monaro VXRs with other bits on we had cars prepped up for PR track use with AP brakes and adjustable Ohlins suspension. I'll be getting a complete list of parts used to truly track prep a Monaro from HSV....its extensive !

What if the current dealers are about as much use as a chocolate fire guard?

now now Dave are you suggesting we dont have a suitable dealership in Scotland. Surely not - I mean those wonderful people in Edinburgh are available to us - providing we're happy to pay £185 for £15 parts!
