Whats the most embarasing thing that could happen at the lights?

Well last night at around midnight I pulled up at the lights....alongside a police car.

Anyway I am trying to be inconspicuous which is difficult in a bright red 41 inch high car! the lights turn green and as I pull away the coppers look across to us as the engine burbles away.

At this point the car decides they arn't paying enough attention and the horn on my car comes on and wont go off (rain got to the horn under the front section).

I didn't get stopped but my heart was in my mouth for a while.

By the way for those that don't know, Ultima's Aquaplane horifically and extreme care must be taken when there is any surface water around, even on a motorway/highway!

Man...now that sounds embarresing!

Any other stories out there like this?

Let me tell you about my little incident. Just promise me that the wife won't find out! I'd never hear the end of it.

I was doing some testing out at my office in the country. 5 miles from the closest town. Perfect place to tune an injection system. No houses, no people, no cars. Just wide open flat country roads. I had to make a slight adjustment to my brake lines so the rear bonnet would close properly. I have hard lines throughout the chassis and ss link lines from chassis to calipers. Anyway, I loosened the two rear fittings and adjusted them but forgot to rebleed. I took off on my merry way, but about 2 miles from my office I heard a loud vibrating noise. You guessed it. My calipers were beginning to lock up, and were hydraulic locking. Damn...
So I turn around and head back to the office with an extremely loud vibrating noise. In addition, running both the aircon and lights were dragging down my battery and my little alternator could not keep up. So I was cycling the aircon off and on. It was 10 p.m., but 85 deg. F outside. Man I was really sweating in my sports by now. Just when I got about 1/4 mile from my office, I look up and a police car has his lights on! Oh man...I was really having to nurse the car along by now with the brakes hydraulic'ing and I knew that if I turned the car off I'd not be able to restart. As I slow down, the brakes grab and stall the motor. Mother%$^%$# son of @ $%#$@ I should have engaged the clutch! By this time I'm really kicking myself in the rear! The worst part was...I didn't have insurance on the car and it wasn't registered yet! I was really sweating from the lack of aircon and new I was scre$#@. The cop just wanted to give me a warning b/c my left tail light was out! Fortunately, he was pretty cool and told me to get the car insured and registered. To top it all off! He had to tow me back to the office due to my dead battery! If he hadn't been so overwhelmed by the Ultima then he'd probably given me $1000 worth of fines. Whehw...talk about a terrible night. I only saw 2 cars on the road that entire night. His and another.
Just one of those nights when everything that can go wrong...does! I later replaced the alternator with a high output unit, and I always make sure the brakes work before I drive the car!
What I've learned from buiding and driving my car is that sometimes you just have those kind of days. When one thing after the next goes wrong. It happens to us all sooner or later I suppose. I think there's a similar law that applies to motorcycles...if you haven't gone down...you will!
Cheers!

I came round a corner at speed to see a police car hiding in a field entrance (presumerably with a lazer gun). I stamped on the AP's but hit a big bump. This resulted in all 4 wheels locking up. That in its self is not too bad, but for those that don't know, when you lock up 335 rears at speed PLUMES of tyre smoke pour out of the wheel arches. I then mistimed my downchange and grinded the gearbox.

For my troubles I was then followed for the next 10 minutes by the police car who eventually let me go.

How about having an XKR pull up next to you at the lights wanting a race, it pips you to start with until traction is gained, you shoot past it like it was in reverse, grab second and then one CV joint explodes and the drive shaft is ripped in two

Errr yeah you try getting 400+ bhp down off the line without wheelspinning in a car that weighs less than a citroen Saxo.

Especially when racing a 350+ Bhp tranction controlled, autoboxed Jag!!!!!!!
