has anyone got a throttle cable for an S3c? I suspect they're all the same across the S models..

I've managed to snap mine and after about 6 hours of attempting a bodge i've given up and resigned myself to getting a replacement part, only trouble is, no one has them in stock! i'm in nottingham at the moment and I need the throttle cable to get home to london so if anyone has a spare, anywhere in the country I would like to buy it from you i'll travel to where you are tomorrow and then travel back to nottingham to fix the car (at least, that's the plan)

please email psychobert through his profile an he'll pass on messages to me (I can't pick up my profile email) or call/text me on 07789 755055

thanks very much!

Sods law...

I have checked the garage for spare cable to no avail...I distinctly remember it being under the passenger seat, but if you have checked there, heaven only knows where that has gone.

The best bet, being sunday is to join the aa/rac. They carry spare cable, and have affected a repair for me in the past on the roadside, or they can yank it up onto a flat bed so at least you can get it home until you find one in stock.

bloody typical isn't it.

if you are desparate - any bicycle shop will carry bowden cable the right diameter to use as throttle cable and they will have screw on nipples - use your old outer and renew the inner - should only cost a couple of quid and any half tidy mechanic could do it for you
good luck

4 foot of bowden cable and a couple of pinch bolts later thanks to Halfords and I reckon you'll be sorted.. Got the bits on my passenger seat now..

I'll give you a call shortly and see how you are getting on..

well, one trip to halfords later (on the advice of dr.bert) and a small amount of elbow grease (only ten minutes!) we are sorted...for how long, I don't know...but i'm ordering two new cables at the moment just in case!
