loose sagaris bonnet

Had my sagaris since beginning of January and despite a few problems, have been able to overlook any issues because the car has the ability to put a smile on my face and those watching me fly by like nothing else.
Big problem today though
. Normally when driving fast I look well ahead. My passenger however noticed the bonnet flexing. I pulled over and checked the fixings which appeared to be ok. Unfortunately, whilst traveling on the motorway at speed, the bonnet became completely unattached on the nearside. I stopped and found the Allen-key type fixing had undone. Was this because of vibrations, because it hadn't been tightened when serviced, or caused by some other force of nature?
has anyone else had such problems? bit disconcerting considering how fast i will be traveling at times! any info/reassurance would be appreciated.

Happened to us too. TWICE
Bonnet edge has also jumped about 3 inches (where the wipers are) but alan key fixing stayed tight.
Our dealer has done something to ours to stop it happening
( sorry not sure what he did
) Perhaps you need a word with your dealer

I assume you are referring to one of the fastenings nearest the windscreen.
These should have been 'pop' marked so that when the dots line up the roll pin 'T' bar underneath has engaged the slotted bracket properly.
If this was done correctly by your service agent then the the problem may be due to the roll pin being fitted up side down.
After having been used several times this causes the roll pin to unravel ( imagine a Swiss roll unravelling)
the pin will not then engage with the slotted bracket properly and can come loose.
FIX-- replace with new roll pin with the seam at the bottom.
If it's the bottom fixing then there was a factory mod which should have been fitted to the later cars.

In process of sorting same problem.
I am "putting" a recess on the underside of the slotted retaining bracket attached to the body of the car, so that the pin seats properly when turned through 90 degrees.
It is somewhat inevitable that the pin will eventually move across the (currently) flat underside of the bracket given the flexing and vibration the bonnet experiences - I do not want to have to stop en route again.
You can only pretend to be cleaning the bonnet/windscreen so many times!
