Due to a change in financial circumstances, unfortunately it looks like the T350 might have to go

A quick ring around yesterday afternoon and I've been offered £31k and £33k from two different dealers, but was wondering what I should put her up for (if she does have to go) on a private sale?

(05 plate) T350 T
Rgistered 1st Aug 2005
2500 miles
2yrs and 7mths warranty still remaining.
Full spec and colours etc is in my profile.
1k service carried out and no faults found. All niggles irnoned out.

Seeing as they are about £37k at the dealers, I was thinking of around £34-£35k, or is that being a bit optimistic? I've seen a couple of 05 cars go from the classifieds advertisied at around that price, but obviously I doubt they fetched that exact money.

The key thing i've been told though is that my car is a 3yr warrantied car, so the value is much stronger than an 54 plate car, which was nice to hear!

It's not definite she will be going yet, but your thoughts would be welcomed.

Cheers

Sorry to hear that you might have to be getting rid so soon.

IMHO a £4-5k spread is not too unreasonable on a £30k TVR, so a £33k offer from a dealer (for a straight cash purchase) is not too bad.

Maybe £35k for a private sale if you are lucky if the car is "as new".

The bids on our 2005 Tamora ranged from £24K to £29K. The car was 3 months old with roughly 3K miles on it. Sorry to hear that it might have to go Kevin.

Sorry to hear it might have to go Kev. 33k seems a very good price since a dealer has to take the hit of it possibly (possibly) sitting on their forecourt for months - and I assume thats not part ex either. The reason I say this is that Racing Green have 2 cars for sale today which were for sale when I was looking for mine exactly 2 years ago (Cameleon Green T350T, Laser Blue Tamora - possibly also a yellow T350T too, but I'm not sure if that was bought/p-ex again).

Bang on the money I'd say - mine went for similar and has sold today at a dealers. I don't think you'll get a private buyer at any more than that. People would rather pay the 3k premium for the same car and 'peace of mind'!

If a dealer has offered £33k, rather than to maret at that, I'd snatch their hand off.

Thanks for the replies chaps. It's interesting to note that the dealer who has offered me the most money doesn't have any T350's in stock and was virtually biting my hand off, so maybe he might give more for it if I push it, who knows!?

Anyway, at least I now have a good idea of price, and I'm singing off the same hhymn sheet as everybody else.

Thanks again

p.s. If anybody is preliminarly interested in it, feel free to email me.

The problem is a Private Buyer having £35k cash in his back pocket, and wanting a TVR second hand. This is where the dealer have you by the nutts, they too know this as most buyers from dealer will take out some sort of Finance on a Car from them, new, or secondhand.

It is possible for someone to get Personal finace from someone like lombards, or Black Horse (TVR Finance use these), but the selling process might take longer, and there is the hassel fact too...

Good luck with the sale.
