Looking for a new car for my wife. She likes cars with a bit of character (and it's essential they are relatively quick ) and has taken a liking to the 147's - especially black ones!

Are there any models/variances/options in particular to look out for or avoid? Any year where there were particular improvements made etc?

Any and all thoughts appreciated!

Do not buy any Alfa without a detailed service history.

LOL so I take it GTA's are popular. Going to have to get some insurance quotes on that one I think, she's not exactly soft with the right foot, as her licence proves

Any particular reasons? I can handle 99% of maintenence on it but if there is any particular problem they develop I should look for?

If its out of warranty, I'd say its much better to get a car thats been looked after by an independant specialist, alfa dealers are generally clowns and dont do great work at all. A service history of some sort though is a must, I agree.
