Hi chaps,

haven't posted on the Chimaera forum for a while as the poor motor is in need of some TLC and has been sitting in the in-laws garage for a few months.

Anyhow, I started her up over christmas (god I miss the V8!) and took her for a quick spin, turned on the heater blower and all the instrument needles dropped, also the blower isn't working, none of the dials work at all now. There is obviously a short somewhere or other. Or maybe the blower has ceased and it blew a fuse, but I don't thing the blower and instruments are on the same fuse are they?

It was pretty damp in the motor for a while before I got her under a roof.

Anyone any ideas

Sounds more like an earthing problem to me. Check the ones under the center console. Details in the bible.

Could the on/off speedo in in my S3 V8S be shorting problem? Does anyone know where the wires run? Thanks.

I had exactly same when I dislodged a 15A fuse after I had "inspected" the fusebox. The blower & instruments did not work, speedo & tach were a bit funny too. After reseating the fuse, all worked properly again & has been fine since.

Chances are the bugger has just blown & replacing it should be fine.
