My front wheel bearing is loose, anyone know what size the nut is. Can it be tightened on the car or will I have to remove the hub as it has to be tightened to 250 ft\lbs.

41mm, and you'll be lucky to get a torque wrench in because of the bottorm ball joint and anti roll bar mount, better to remove it (track rod end split, bottom ball joint and unbolt top mount)......bearing may be goosed if it's been run slack though?

When tightening do I need to get a BIG hex allen key to fit into the hub or can I put the wheel nuts on the studs and put a bar against them to tighten the nut against.
Several people who have stripped their front suspensions must have done it one way or the other.

I made a big hex head to fit in the centre of the hub, but it was a chew on to get the hub, upright et al balanced on the top of it to tighten....so, what I did with the 4 studs was put the nuts on all 4 studs, and tighten the vice until it securely clamps the hub (don't overtighten or you may bend the studs) and then did it that way. If it's five stud hubs, you need to come up with a cunning 1 stud tighening technique.........
