no https on new broadband?

My friend has just installed wanadoo broadband, and cant access any https pages. checked their help (sic) and got no clues, any ideas?

Over zealous firewall blocking port 443.

no firewall or even virus software (gulp) thats the next job.

try changing the MTU size on the router to 1400 - if Wanadoo supplied the modem/router etc then it should already be done
