High mileage ?

I would like to buy a cerbera 450 LW I have found, well maintaned with 50K on clock. Are there any high mileage 450s out there ? are these engines bullet proof or are there problems ahead.

You never know, but 50k miles doesn't seem excessive to me. Some have broken at much lower milages than that, some have gone on for much longer. If it has a good history and checks out ok then it should be fine.

114,000, something like that anyway.

Higher the better, INHO, as long as it has been looked after.

Totally agree with the high milage idea. What has been going on with older cars which have low milage. At least the owner of a high milage car knows its spent its life on the road and not in a garage. Yes there are special cars that have been kept in low milage mint condition but not that many that i have seen.

Hmmm, I think that's going a bit far. A 100k engine will most certainly have lots of worn parts needing replacement sooner than a 50k engine! Maybe not terminally worn, but certainly MORE worn. Though probably a better measure is mileage since recent rebuild.

mine was 67,000 with no work and only went because of lack of oil-my stupdity!

I didn't say it would stop working necessarily, but it *will* be more worn. I.e. closer to needing work.

I don't see it as a problem if it's been regularly used and properly maintained. My 4.5 is at 53k and going strong.

Buy based on Condition, service History and whats been "done to it" eg Suspension upgrades, re-mapping etc .and as with all Cerb's keep £2k aside for the unexpected.
