Any pointers?

Games appears to work well all week, and goes nuts on Sunday as ping time rise and eventually I get disconnected annoying me, and leaving my car on the grid.

I am plugged directly in to a wireless router. The router shows no wireless activity during this time. I close down my virus checker and ad aware software prior to a game (although during the week this is on).

It feel like a WAN killer application......but why would it just start to bug me on Sunday evening?

...or is it just Bandwidth issues, I have 500k BT Business BB.

Cheers

Dave

As I said in another thread, I think it is a piece of software downloading updates from the internet at the same time every week. What are your windows update settings?

And possibly contact your ISP and see if there are any distrubances for some reason?

If you can open a command prompt and do a TRACERT to the server, that should help narrow down the possibilities to your pc / router / adsl / ISP / external network. Sunday evening is a very busy time for home Internet users and your ISP might be getting a bit overwhelmed.

You are plugged into a wireless router? So is it wireless or not? If you are connecting wirelessly go for an ethernet to see if that helps.

If not, there must be something else that either uses your connection or spanks your PC at 8:30. Maybe a scheduled virus scan is running?

Any luck tracking it down yet Dave?

You're welcome to bring your setup round here and plug into a spare port on my router for the race.

No swearing in front of the little divers tho

BTW I've got some new pussy in - 7 month old kittens

Maybe we could try delaying the start by 15 mins just to see if it is something at 8:30 ?

I uninstalled a few programs that had been put on in the last few weeks. Not sure if this was the problem or not....we'll have to wait and see.

That hairpin bit was funny. I'd had a pretty boring race until I came out after my pit stop. I knew you did'nt have to pit and wanted you gone as quick as poss
