Rear Hub seal,
Discussion
Yet more bits to do to get her ready for the good weather.
The N/S rear hub bearing seal is leaking but the bearing is fine two questions then.
Is it an easy job to do?
Does anyone know the part numbers or where to get the seals from. Im assuming it's a ford part since the hub from a ford cossie I'm lead to beleive.
Thanks
Steve

You'll probably find (I know from bitter experience) that the bearing races will come apart on one side when you take the hub apart.....if they don't then you're lucky! The bearing carrier I believe is sierra cosworth, hoever I'd just get yourself to TVR as they only charge £4.90 per seal......which is slightly cheaper (I believe) than Ford.

Thanks for the info shouldn't be to expensive then if it's just the seals. By the way would you attempt the job yourself or take it to a garage?
Looking at the hub I reckon it's drive shaft out, Brake hose dissconnection and undo the hub from the wishbones.
You shoudn't have to take the axle's out,nor dissconnect the hose, obviously take the calliper off.
Undo the four hex bolts on the hub carrier upright and it should slide off the spline.
Hope youv'e got a big torque wrench or weigh about 250lbs...
