Throttle Cable Bust at Pedal

Done the quick fix with connector block on frayed end - apparently I have to take the old one out - measure it and call speedy cables - does anyone know the length it should be - or has some clever chappy invented a cable with a nipple on one end and a bolt on butterfly at the other - wouldn't that work if available? - Just so I can get it done without laying the car up and waiting for the new cable to arrive!

If you get stuck, you can buy a standard pushbike brake cable which is a Bowden cable with a nipple at each end. Simply cut one end off, remove the inner and shove it down your existing outer with a screw-on cable nipple at the other end (your bike shop will sell these too). Quick and easy temporary fix.

Make sure the throttle return spring/s are there and working properly. I can't imagine how big a brown trouser moment you would have if the temporary cable broke and the throttle stuck open
It wouldn't be the first TVR to do this

Vehicle Wiring Products sell Bowden cable inner, outer and every kind of nipple so that you can make up your own cable.
You might need some soldering skills though.

Recently minimax had a similar problem with his S.

It was remedied by bowden cable from a cycling shop with some nipples on the end.
I think it may have been halfords (as much as I hate saying it)

Check it against the one on the car Jeff (just in case) - I ordered one from same place last year which duly arrived but was totally incorrect!

Hopefully this will not be the case with yours but thought you should know.

Ta, will do but it looked the part when I un wraped it. Haven't checked with the old one yet.

Did that on mine, still going strong a year later. Put some grease on the inner before you shove it down - or up - there.
