Forester GT

I'm looking at getting a Forester GT, about 5-6 years old. I'm interested in any advice as to what to look for - I'm reasonably OK at checking things out, but would like some hints of anything in particular with these. I'll be buying it in Australia, so don't worry about prices and UK-specific stuff, I'm just after some pointers.

I'd appreciate any help provided.
