I suspect that Ian Macintosh will be making an appearance this year with his 300zx - I know he's thrown a rediculous amount of money at the project, I gave up following what was being done, when he started bragging about the amount of money he's thrown at it :sigh:

I've been to this for the last couple of years and although there is a large Chav element, the quality of some of the cars more than makes up for this.

My faves from last year were the infamous green mk.1 Golf twin turbo that runs the 1/4 mile in approx 10secs, watching this car launch is awesome, and the brand new standard looking silver Toyota Corolla that ran an amazing 10.6 sec, we later found out that it was running a turbo conversion with 600bhp.

The Supras, Skylines and one very quick Imprezza steal the show, but for RWD only the highly tuned TVRs (500bhp+) would be seriously competitive.

It's a good day out if you appreciate the workmanship that goes into some of the cars.

I know what you mean about the workmanship side of things, I can appreciate the work involved in the Carisma Cerb' whilst thinking it is the most hateful abortion to have ever been created.

I'll be honest the 1/4 mile leaves me cold. Big deal you can go up a piece if tarmac really quickly, but let's see you out on the track.

Horses for courses.

I'm not really into the track days as I am not a good enough driver and probably couldn't afford to do it in the Cerb.

1/4 mile wasn't really my thing either, but I was "bullied" into it by some friends to see what the Cerb can do and have been back 2 or 3 times since, each time to prove the cars new mods. It can be quite addictive and good fun, it is also good to watch.

sorry if it came across as me being an arse, it wasn't meant to be, as you say it's horses for courses. We need ALL forms of motorsport in this country and the more diverse the better.
