Watch out leaving the M4 at Junciton 29 onto the A48. There was a scamera van parked up on the first bridge you go under but is was hidden as far as it could be to the left of the bridge with the cameras wired up and stationed remotely in the middle of the bridge.

They were there about 16.30 yesterday. Gave my brakes a workout

Does that mean no speeding tickets then?

I'd say that could be right. Having passed the van on the bridge today it definitely looked like it was set up to scan number plates/tax discs rather than speed checks.....but I still wouldn't bet on it!!!

How would a police officer gain a prior indication of your speed if he's sat in the van someway away from the camera?
ANPR is often used on bridges in conjunction with a number of police vehicles parked in the surrounding areas waiting to deal with any vehicles it flags up.

Stop worrying.

I agree ,they were more interested in Who you were not how fast you were going ,they are a pain in the arse though ,still it will slow you down until the next time,Funny that a visit from the Old Bird filters down to us little people in that way.

yeah, if he was dishing out tickets/NIP's from a van he'd have to be marked up as doing so "Think!" logo etc, or big camera sign next to him.
Otherwise the NIP wouldn't stand and you could argue the toss out of it

I went hooning down that part of the A48 yesterday and saw him

The same cameras are always on the bridge just off the M4 leading to Pentwyn whenever there is a big football match on in the Millenium Stadium. There are always a few marked cars a couple of miles down the road to catch the tax dodging scousers :d
