Wonder which way he was going, If you are heading north there is a fairly tight turn onto the bridge (which is two way but narrow) afte a drop down the hill from Gateshead (unless he was coming from the "Boat"). If he was heading south then he has probably just passed the queues of people outside the collection of nightclubs there.
Now there could have been deisel spilt so I won't go jumping to conclusions...

I'm pretty sure if I was driving a ferrari in my early twenties I wouldn't be here today.

Good to see no one severely injured though. I just wonder how many of these wealthy sports stars have taken any sort of advanced driving courses or done any trackday training. It's something I'm surprised their clubs don't get involved with to protect their investment.

Read something about the West Ham (?) kid - Michael Carrick (?) driving a Dodge Viper at 18 - Met somoene that had a Yellow Diablo 6.0 at 19...
Insurance really was silly money... aaahhh footballers!
