Well, My Tam is going away to SP on Saturday for its 12K big service and MOT – I am sure she’ll be fine, but needless to say, I still worry, in case I get the dreaded phone call. Just goes to show, all of the negative comments affects even the most tenacious ‘Rose Tinted Spectacle’ TVR owners! Is it this normal to worry, well, at least have a modicum of doubt??

Oh yes, must ask SP if they can change my gearknob collar, as the new one I put on, I tightened up with a pair of adjustables, scratching the hell out of the brand new collar – idiot!

It'll go all pear shaped and you'll end up rebuilding the engine to 4l RR spec......

Everything will be fine Chris.

BTW some monkey with a wrench did the same to my collar just after purchase. Been like that ever since. How much are they?

You need to get yourself some ‘Red-Rose Tinted Spectacles’.

Mine is in for a 6k plus tappets and MoT tomorrow at Fernhurst, I`m more worried about the MoT, as my speedo sensor has been thrown out of it housing, ive since heard Speedo sensors are on a back order
Am i worried about any bad news? Not really, ive already "been there and had the T shirt" so to speak with the Tuscan Handle it in the right manor and it won`t cost as much as you think
Good luck or break a tappet

I feel silly, as I feel as apprehensive about my bloody car service and MOT as I do when I have to go for a medical! Am I odd??

At least I won't need any new tyres this time, and the handbrake light can be sorted, so I don't have to tap the handbrake lever down twice to turn off the darn warning light!

The gear knob collars are only around the £3 mark, got my last one (the one I ruined with adjustables!) from TVR Power.

Don't worry.. it will pass the MOT... AT A PRICE!!!!

Just dropped mine off for service/MOT... List so far:

New Tyres (needed one (Toyo) but went for the Eagles all round)
1 Engine mount
Something to do with the exhaust
Various oil/fluid leaks....

Nothing to serious

Well, we had a fab drive up to Silverstone today, nice guys there We were meant to have an MR2 courtesy car, but the clutch had gone, so we/I drove home in a Daewoo Kalos!! (have already scraped both the sides of the bodywork up some stone walls, it now has a tad more character – doesn’t drive any better though!

Am sure it'll be worth it for a decent service by guys who know what they're talking about, and stayed in TVR because of their passion for the cars.

Last week I had the pleasure of taking a Chevrolewoo Lancetti to Newcastle.

It was poorly made from cheap materials. Had masses of play in the steering and the engine was bobbins.

You know; I think Chevrolet might be just as apt as Daewoo.

GM: Shonky badge engineering at its worst.

I only left the Tam there Saturday; I think they’re working on it today or tomorrow (gulp!)
I’d ring them up to see how it’s going, but in truth, I’m a pessimist who masquerades as an optimist, and always fear the worst!
Anyway, I love the fact that a Daewo… err Chevrolet’s parked on my drive, the neighbours must be intensely jealous !!!! (am sure my Tam’s fuel consumption is better too!!!)
I seen Snowey’s Tusc there on Saturday, it looks lovely, I hope that’s sorted for him soon.
