I've been caught out a number of times now when clicking on links in a member's profile: the page doesn't open in a new window (so I lose my browser window when I've finished looking at it ).

I think that this (changed) behaviour came in with the new profile page design; it's not a big issue, but is inconsistent with the treatment of links in the rest of the forums. And of course it takes users away from a PH session ......

IE6SP2 on XP Pro if it makes a difference.

Suspect it's all about the latest web standard guidelines which state that, until browsers give users the ability to prevent links working in this way on a local basis, they shouldn't be used.

Correct. My adherence to standards is responsible. I'll probably break the standard though as it's a silly standard!

Errr, but this link will open the page in a new window.

I know, but my older pages are far from complying with any standards
